Albie

Emerson and I have been having fun the past couple of days with a new friend. Albie (not to be confused with the Racist Dragon) is a formerly indoor cat who is now a stray and seems to have adopted us. We moved into our house about two weeks ago and ever since we have seen this little albino tiger cat around the neighborhood.

In addition to being oh-so-cute, Albie is so skinny that we could see his ribs. It was obvious to us that he wasn't being fed by anyone. Being the compassionate pet owners that we are, of course we put out food and water for the little guy and gave him a box with some blankets to hang out in on our front porch. Well, I think he is ours now.

Albie did give me a bit of a scare on Saturday when we were playing. He nipped me on the hand and he broke the skin. It was a very minor bite, and I have endured much worse from my own kittehs in the past. My only concern was that I didn't know if poor little Albie has had his shots or not. So we are going to keep an eye on him for the next few weeks and make sure that he is doing alright. In the mean-time I just have to keep convincing myself that I do not have rabies...I do not have rabies. Did I mention that I tend to obsess about things?

Anyway, this evening we had the very rare New Crapico thunder storm and Emerson and I were worried that Albie wouldn't have anywhere to get out of the rain. We brought his little box with blankets and his food and water in the garage and left the garage door open a smidge so that he could get in and out. We just went into the garage about ten minutes ago and he was snuggled up in his box. I really do hope that we can find a good home for this little guy.

He is already fixed and he is de-clawed on his front paws. He is very friendly and just wants to be a lazy indoor cat once again. If anyone in New Mexico is looking for a really cool cat and would like an addition to their family leave me a message using the "Call Me" feature in this blog.
